He Knows

Kaboom!

The thunder was an unwelcome alarm clock.

4:30 a.m.

If only I could go back to sleep.

But I had a slight headache.

Nothing a Tylenol couldn’t soothe.

But after taking the pain reliever, I still tossed and turned.

I realized my leg was hurting, for some unknown reason.

God was using a variety of maladies to shake me awake.

Then I heard God’s alarm clock, the one that usually serenades me every morning, a praise song. This morning, it was “Redeemer” by Nicole C. Mullin.

“Really, God?”

“You want me up this early?”

I knew falling back asleep was a lost cause, so I got up, before the birds stretched their wings, to start my quiet time. It was apparent the Lord had an important message for me, and needed extra time.

430 a.m.

Has God ever woken you up early because he had something pressing to say to you?

Because of delays in the purchase of our new house, I asked the Lord to confirm the decision to buy this particular home. I wanted to be sure it was his will. In this pre-dawn quiet time, he was faithful to bring to mind all that happened to make the decision reality.

The Holy Spirit reminded me, “Remember the offer that came in right after your offer? That could have just as easily beat your offer out. (I remembered all the other houses that fell through.) Do you recall the wave of emotion you felt when you were sitting in that living room?” That was me, confirming this is where I want you to live.”

“But what about all the plans we’ve made to move this weekend? They are now in jeopardy.”

The still small voice said, “I know what’s ahead. You have done what you need to do. Now stand still, trust me, and watch me work.”

He knows.

He knows what you’re dealing with.

He knows what you need.

He knows what’s ahead.

Sometimes we feel like God has forgotten us, but if we are connected to him, he is the best Project Manager we can have on our team. If we are in his will, and this world throws complications at us, he can manage them to achieve the end goal, so he receives the glory.

That’s what Paul meant in Romans 8:28 when he said, “And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

He will accomplish his purpose for our lives, if we leave our future in his hands. Because no one knows better than God what has to happen.

Do you feel alone in a trial right now?

You are not alone.

God is present. He knows what you are going through, and will work through it with you.

Got Faith

Sometimes the Lord may ask us to take a walk of faith. He may challenge us to move forward without all the details worked out. He may want us to leave the insurmountable troubles in his hands, because only he can flip the impossible to the possible.

We have to remember, he is omniscient, all knowing, and sees what’s happening behind the scenes.

Do you have a situation that you know is from God, but complications have discouraged you? You’ve exhausted all your resources?

He knows.

He sees what you are facing. Give it over to him, stand still, and watch him work.
