A Detailed Plan by Lisa Burkhardt Worley, D.Min.

Need direction? Over the years, I have found that God will provide specific direction on how to proceed in life if we ask Him.
The past two weeks have been busier than I would like. I have had eight speaking engagements, plus church and Pearls ministry work to do. When I finish writing one message, I move to the next without a break. How is this possible? I lay it all at God’s feet and ask for His wisdom and words. He always provides a blueprint for the messages.

From the beginning of time, God has been all about the details. Creation was detailed. Think about the design of the heavens and earth, the animals, and mankind. Each is distinct and intricately made. Creation has always been enough for me to believe. Have you ever stopped to admire God’s handiwork, some of which is so unique? How could this randomly happen?
When the LORD asked Moses to build Him a tabernacle, the instructions were specific. Here is the detail on the Ark of the Covenant, which carried the stone tablets with the Ten Commandments etched on them by Adonai:

It was made of acacia wood, measuring two-and-a-half cubits in length, approximately 3.75 feet. It was 1.5 cubits wide, which is about 2.25 feet. It had to be overlaid with pure gold, inside and out, and it had a crown of gold around it. There were four rings of gold in its feet, and to carry it, there needed to be poles made of acacia wood covered with gold. Moses was told to make an atonement cover of pure gold, also 2 ½ by 1 ½ cubits. There needed to be two cherubim of gold at the ends of the cover, with their wings spread, facing each other, and their faces turned toward the atonement cover. The atonement cover was then placed on top of the ark.
God also provided great detail in the building of Noah’s ark, and the construction of the Temple. If He was so detailed in the Old Testament, why would He not lovingly share detail with us when we need instruction?

Isaiah 58:11 says, The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
Proverbs 16:3 encourages us to Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. Instead of fretting over a life decision, hand it over to God and listen for an answer. He will provide a detailed plan of how to proceed.
