God is Always With You by Lane Jordan Burday
The LORD is the one who is going ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not desert you or abandon you. Do not fear and do not be dismayed (Deuteronomy 31:8 NASB)
When I had my first child, she was very colicky and sick the first year of her life. So much so that I had decided on no more children. However, when she was about three, she came into the kitchen, and I knew at that moment God wanted me to have another child.
I had an easy second pregnancy but toward the end I became fearful. What if this child is as sick? How am I going to cope with a sick baby and another child?
And then God gave me a vision! I saw myself waking up our stairs, holding a newborn, and Jesus was walking alongside me, His arm on my shoulder.
Yes! Jesus would, of course, be with me. He even goes ahead of me to prepare the way. He will never desert me or abandon me. What peace I had.
Are you in a difficult time or season in your life? I pray that you will have the confidence for your situation, that Christ will give what is needed to you – sufficient grace, wisdom, and abundant provision – to show up and be present.
In all your activities, in both the momentous and mundane, may you rely on Him – experiencing the joy of collaborating with the King of Kings.
This is a verse I claim many times: “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me” (Isaiah 49:16).
If your name and my name on engraved on our Lord’s hands, He will never forget or leave us!
