Limit Your Limits by Onyx Conklin

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. (Hebrews 12:1)

I’m about to remove your excuse factor. I’m sorry to do this to you but you have been holding on to your limits long enough. So here goes….Kokichi Akuzawa, a citizen of Japan, just made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for climbing Mount Fuji. His age? 102! I should mention that when he was a “young” man of 96, he climbed to the top of Mount Fuji for the first time—the tallest mountain in Japan.

Often we place limits on ourselves by believing lies. We entrap our minds into thinking we can’t make more money because we don’t have a college education. We can’t travel to other countries because it isn’t safe. We won’t meet that special someone because even AI can’t make our dating profile look more glamorous. And like many have believed—we are past the age of accomplishment and big dreams.

Liar liar pants on fire!

In the Bible, Moses didn’t pass away until he was 120 and he was healthier and stronger than he had ever been. Mother Teresa lived in squalor and poverty and became a pioneer in serving the poor. Doubting Thomas journeyed farther in missionary work than any other apostle, traveling to India. You are in good company. Until you take that last breath on earth, get moving! You don’t have to scale Mount Fuji but limit your limits!

My challenge to you today: In one year’s time, beginning today, pick something you have never done and go all in.

Let’s be the champions of our lives!
