Do You Not See It? By Lane Jordan Burday
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland (Isaiah 43:19).

It is so easy to ignore the importance of starting a new year by making the same resolutions, eating turnip greens and black-eyed peas, and watching football games and parades.

But a new year represents a new day dawning, proclaiming a fresh start! The God who created the universe, created the earth, and created you is ready to do a new thing in you.
The question is, are you ready to see it? For unless we purposefully lean in, we can miss what God has planned for us.

I remember my former pastor, Dr. Charles Stanley, teaching that if we ignore God and His Spirit’s promptings, He may put us on a shelf, unused. I remember being horrified by that because I so want God to use me in ministry and for others.
I know it is easy to be stuck in the past because of discouragement, mistakes, or opportunities lost, which may keep us from embracing the new thing God wants to do. But I believe that God is already stirring a desire in our hearts for something deeper, something genuinely new in our lives. We need to ask Him to come and work in our lives.

Do you have a spiritual hunger?
God loves to meet you and show you a new path through whatever wilderness or dry places you may be in. Give Him your love, your praise, and your worship. See Him in the good times and in the wilderness and trust Him. He’s already beginning something new!
Dear Lord, I seek You, and I open my life to Your life-changing power. Give me the renewal I need for this new year, full of your love, mercy, and grace. Fill my desert with your living water.
