God’s Team

Team         In elementary school, I also wanted to be picked for the team. Whether it was dodgeball, kickball or baseball, it’s every child’s desire to be chosen among the first. But because I was pudgy and did not look athletic, I was usually one of the last selected.  “OK, I guess I’ll take her,” I can remember the team captain saying.  Deep inside, you knew she only chose you because she had to.

For those of you who can relate to this, I’ve got some good news for you.  God wants you to be on his team!  When teams are chosen on earth, it’s based on athleticism, looks or popularity but God’s team is filled with people whose hearts are willing to be a part of what he is doing. John 15:16 says, You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

God doesn’t look at your outside appearance.  He looks at your heart and he will equip you to run the race you sign up for. In God’s world, you will never stand around waiting to be selected if you desire to be on his team.  He’s just waiting for you to tell him you are ready.  And once you join his effort, he will give you all the tools to be successful. 1 Chronicles 16:9 promises:  For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

As God’s eyes roam the earth, will they stop on you because you are a fully committed team member?  Our ministry team regularly says, “We are all in!” We are ready and willing to go or do whatever our team captain tells us to go or do. We have seen how God works through fully committed players and the victories are exciting.

Do you want to be a part of a team that is fulfilling beyond measure? The Almighty Team Captain is waiting for your heart to say, “Choose me.” Once you do, you’re guaranteed a spot on God’s roster.
