Have You Ever Thought “I’m the Only One?” By Lisa Mick

At one point in all of our lives we have felt alone, isolated, insecure, anxious, worried, stressed, helpless, or angry. We have all believed our world is crumbling and we’re the only one!  That is, the only one who has ever felt these emotions or feelings or that our world is the only world that is falling apart.

We look around at everyone else and say “They have it all together!” “Look how perfect their family is!” “Wow, she’s beautiful and she certainly has no self esteem issues!” “I wish I had their life.” “No one else has endured the same pain as I have.” “Look at that family sitting all together, happy as they can be!” “It must be because they have a nice home, fancy cars and take expensive vacations.”

We then say, “What could possibly be wrong in their world?”  I tell you what could be wrong.  Everything or anything ladies!! We don’t know what anyone else is going through.  This all happens when we are not secure in who we are and fail to claim our rightful place as a daughter of the KING!!

You see, Satan tells us lies; he whispers these lies straight into our ears and makes us believe that everyone else’s life is perfect when in all actuality it is NOT!  Every person on earth has issues or problems ladies; they are just different from yours.  No better, no worse, just different.

Open your eyes, start looking around, use the five senses God gave you and you will start to see things in a different light.  Take time to notice others and not YOURSELF!

Focusing on OURSELVES is where the problem is.  I call it the “It’s all about ME syndrome!”  When you are not centering your daily walk around Jesus, life tends to be focused all on you.  So how can you change?

Spend time with God every morning and start your day a different way than you have been doing.  Begin your day thinking about love, joy, peace and kindness.  The Spirit inside you has the power to lift you out of the “All about me” problem so ask HIM to guide you into service for others so that you will receive a different frame of mind.  A new mindset that tells the truth and not the lie, “I’m the only one with issues.”

You see we all have “things” or a past that can hinder our future.  We all have JUNK!

It is how you deal with that junk that decides your future.  You can play the blame game forever or you can own up to your part of the JUNK and have FREEDOM! This is what this message is all about ladies, FREEDOM!!

Freedom in Christ, that is.  In Galations 5:1, It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.  Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Dear friends, in our world it is so easy to be burdened again and again by the yoke of slavery.  We have to put on the yoke of Christ everyday to be able to stand firm.  We can’t possibly do it in our strength.

Galatians 5:13a You, my brothers, were called to be free!

Phillippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
