Kingdom DNA by Mayada Naami

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

(1 Peter 2:9, NIV)

Yesterday, Steve Thompson, our campus pastor at Gateway Dallas, preached a powerful message on being sons and daughters of the most high God. He said that we were not built to shrink in fear. As a cherished member of God’s royal family, we are given access to the fullness of His love and provision and we should stand tall with shoulders back, facing every circumstance with full confidence that Jesus gives us authority over demonic powers.

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

(Luke 10:19-20, NIV)

Pastor Steve said victim mentality is a lie. There are three things you can do to build spiritual muscle growth:

  1. Recognize the lie.
  2. Renew your mind.
  3. Reset—ask the Creator to reset you to what He originally intended.

Anything that disagrees with what God says about you is the enemy’s lie. Break that thought so that it doesn’t take root and harvest into ugliness. We were born for a purpose, but the enemy does not want us to walk in confidence. He wants us to be intimidated, insecure and fearful. God wants us to be fully dependent on Him and walk taller, more confident, secure, and fearless. It is possible to have that kind of confidence because of the God who lives inside of us; our Kingdom DNA. Through His wisdom and guidance, we can use the authority given to us, through His son Jesus Christ, to claim victory in our lives and the lives of those we are called to impact.

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

(2 Corinthians 10:3-5, NIV)

Do you walk with confidence knowing that you are a child of the most High God?
