Praising the LORD! By Lane Jordan Burday
Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness…Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD (Psalm 150:1-6 NIV)

I’m not sure if it’s because I’m getting older or because I’ve been walking with the Lord longer, but all I want to do is praise Him!
I see the trees behind my house, and I give thanks. I see the beautiful blue sky and the clouds billowing there, and I give thanks and praise to my God. I see my daughter growing with the new life inside her, and I praise God for creating life!
God says in Romans 1:19-20 that He has given inside each one of us an understanding of all His magnificent qualities:

“Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
I love this verse because God loves us so much and wants us to know Him! So, He placed within us an understanding of Himself and a deep need to reach out to Something larger than ourselves: God.

God even went further by sending His Son, Jesus, to show us who God is and how to find our way to heaven. And it’s so simple! We are to confess our sins, ask Jesus into our lives, and give our whole lives to God to do His will.
When I prayed this prayer, my whole life turned around. I had a love for other people in my heart that I had never had before. I wanted to actually read the Bible and understand what it said. I couldn’t wait to hear the preacher teach, go to Bible Studies, and learn as much as I could. This was me who didn’t even like Christians!

Yes, in each person is an empty vacuum that only God can fill. He does that by sending His Precious Holy Spirit into everyone who believes and comes to Him for salvation.
The Holy Spirit then gives us the power, strength, and mental capacity to understand God and His Word, and the courage to share this precious gift with everyone we see.
May God fill you up with His majesty! And may you praise the Lord every second of every day left in your life.
