Thank God I Do! By Lane Jordan Burday

A friend sent me a YouTube video featuring the wonderful Christian singer Lauren Daigle singing Thank God I Do alongside Anthony Gargiuia and Jonathan Tilkin.
In the video, they were just sitting casually in her kitchen, not in a fancy studio, but the harmony, the words, and the beauty of their talent caused me to literally tear up. You could tell they meant every word they were singing, and their hearts were full of joy for their Lord as they sang.
Here are the words to this amazing song, Thank God I Do:
I don’t know who I’d be if I didn’t know You. I’d probably fall off the edge. I don’t know where I’d go if You ever let go, so keep me held in your hands. You’re my safe place, my hideaway, You’re my anchor, my saving grace. I don’t know who I’d be if I didn’t know You…thank God I do.

Probably the main reason this video affected me so much is that I feel these words in my innermost spirit every day. At night, as I lie down to sleep, I keep repeating, “Jesus, thank you, thank you.” I pray this because where would I be if God had not saved me? I could be anywhere and could be doing anything that wasn’t of God. My life would be a wreck as it was before I cried out to God to come into my life and help me. Once I said that prayer to Him, I changed! I started to love people as I never had and I began to want to pray, read the Bible, and learn all I could.
Thank you, God! In His great love, He reached down and “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand” (Psalm 40:2).

God did this for me, and I am forever a different person because of Him.
How do you know you are saved and will go to heaven forever? I love this verse from Romans 10:9-10 because the words are so clear and exact! If you do not know God and His Son Jesus, please pray this prayer. He is coming back very soon, and my prayer is for everyone to come to Jesus and be saved.
“If you declare (confess) with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified (sins taken away), and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

May your heart be full of Jesus and His Holy Spirit, Who will fill you with joy and love once you ask Jesus into your life.
