There is a mandate that rings throughout the kingdom of God. It has no face, no color, no gender. It rings as loud in the church as it does in the community. It has no boundaries and doesn’t relegate itself inside the walls of any one church, organization, or group. It can’t be contained within any city, state or country. It has no regard of sickness, whether personal or collective. Its voice is sturdy; its motive is clear; its mission is plain. There can be no question about what it should or should not accomplish. The Bible has made it plain from the very beginning.

This mandate has been talked about from anyone that calls themself a preacher, teacher, minister, or devotee to God and/or his word. Its popularity, while widespread, and audible wherever a believer calls himself in attendance, isn’t as rich as it should be. The truth is, its clarion call is too quiet to reach even the smallest ears of the unbeliever. Yet the Bible says, “He that has an ear, let him hear (Rev. 2:7).”

What is the biggest mandate in the church?

churchserving

The call to serve.

The need for servants far surpasses what most of us could even imagine. The Bible declares, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37).”

The call to handle God’s word in any capacity is the call to serve. (Mary & Martha)

Serving is a natural tendency for women, but why should the church be any different? We serve In our homes, on the job, with family and friends. But the statistics don’t change.  80% of the people do 20% of the work in the church.

Women, we need to make a difference in our community, and a powerful way to do it is to serve in our congregations. Pray about how you can give back. Serving bears eternal rewards.

“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38).
