Why Bother? By Dr. Lisa Burkhardt Worley

I used to be the Public Relations Manager at San Antonio International Airport, and that job required planning ribbon cuttings and employee events. Little did I know at the time that God was training me to put events together for His glory and the edification of the body of Christ.

On Saturday, May 3rd, Pearls of Promise Ministries will hold its eighth Level-Up Women’s Conference, but overall, it is the 19th women’s event that we have planned.

Eight events were at my college alma mater, Texas Lutheran, co-planned with my college friend and fellow athlete, Mary Ann Springer Moore, it was a far cry from the keg parties we used to attend. God had truly transformed us, and by gathering together, we were able to grow closer spiritually. Those were special get-togethers.

However, planning a conference can be nerve-wracking. There are many details to remember, and our numbers are lower than in past years, even though on paper, this year’s Level-Up Women’s Conference is amazing.

We have a wonderful guest speaker, Beth Townsend, who will talk about purpose. I have a deep desire to help women to heal from past emotional wounds, so I believe God has given me a powerful message, “From Pain to Pearl.” Our worship leader, Renee Rollins, will usher us into the presence of God. We will have fun with Lane Jordan Burday’s message on pampering, we will be amazed by Aurora Ortega Geis’ testimony of how the LORD saved her in a horrific accident, and our panel, made up of Dr. Michelle Burden, Onyx Conklin, Zabbie Mikasobe, Emily House, and Lara Ingram, will provide more examples of the healing nature of God. This is a highly anointed event!

There will also be a special time of prayer, led by Rosemary Legrand. If you have never heard Rosemary pray, you are missing out!

But we are sitting at about half the attendance we normally get, so why bother doing it at all? Because, whether it’s one or 100, we care about healing and desire to minister to the weary soul. This conference is about providing a day of refreshing and connection for women. We want those who attend to receive spiritually and leave with a word from God, delivered by the Holy Spirit. We are praying that the women feel the presence of the LORD the second they walk in the room.

If you are contemplating attending this year’s Level-Up Women’s Conference, why delay? Here’s the link to sign up: https://2025LevelUp.eventbrite.com

The registration includes lunch and a lot of goodies that will pamper you. We love you and want you to receive what God has planned on May 3rd.
