Above by Lisa Burkhardt Worley

What if we asked God to see things from His perspective in every scenario we face?

The sickness.

The betrayal.

The move.

The job loss.

While difficult at the time, we often look back and see that what occurred was necessary to take us to a new level spiritually, or to put us in place for the next assignment God had for us.

The question is, “Why can’t we see our lives from above when we’re in the thick of it?”

Another question we might ask is, “Why don’t we trust the one who is above all?”

John 3:31 says, “The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all.”

God has different perspective of our situation. He sees the future. He knows where He is leading us. He has an intricate plan in mind for our lives—and sometimes to get us there, it involves hardship.

So when we go through the next difficult season, let’s pray, “Lord God, will you help me to see this from your vantage point—from above?”
