Because He Loves Me by Lisa Burkhardt Worley

Because he loves me, says the LORD, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name (Psalm 91:14).

There will always be inconsistency in days. Some days will be full of positives. Others will have both positives and negatives. Then there are those days where nothing seems to go right. Last night after one of those days with both positives and negatives, I found out my American Airlines account was hacked and someone booked a flight, using my frequent flyer miles, to Phoenix.

What kind of day are you having?

Whatever happens—good or bad—remember that despite the fluctuations in life, there is a constant—God’s love. Sometimes, we doubt our Heavenly Father’s love due to difficult circumstances or the way we are treated by another person. That’s when we must remember that humans are imperfect. Their love may fail us, but God’s perfect love never releases its embrace.

Deuteronomy 7:9 promises that God is faithful and that he keeps his “covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”

When we love God, we enter into a special love pact with Him and it has an eternal guarantee. He promises to love us, as well as our descendants—forever.

While I had a difficult finish to my day today, God, because He loves me, sent a friend. We had a quiet dinner in Oxford, where we are attending a conference, The weather was perfect so we enjoyed a cool walk back to the dorm room where we are staying. God’s provision was a sign of His love. He knows what we need—and it is always in His perfect timing.
