Do I Need a Tweet Retreat?

Ok, I admit it.  I am a Twitter junkie.  I can’t get enough of it! After being a stagnant tweeter for three years, I rediscovered it a couple of months ago and now have to refrain from tweeting more than a few times a day. I find myself sneaking a peak at Twitter while riding in the car, while watching TV with my husband and in between holes while playing golf. In my morning prayers, I pray for family and friends, then ask God to graciously provide at least two inspiring tweets for the day. What has happened to me? I am wondering if there is a Twitter 12-step program out there?

Sincerely, I believe what really draws me to Twitter are the inspiring one-line messages so many other brothers and sisters in Christ share with each other. It’s amazing that people can pack such a powerful exhortation in 140 characters or less. Here’s one from newfound Twitter friend, Peter Apostle:  “Always listen to your heart..it’s on your left side, but it’s always right!” Who wouldn’t love that tweet? How about this one from A Godly Life:  “All that I have seen helps me trust God for all that I have not seen.” One liner after one liner.  It’s an inspirational marathon for those of us with short attention spans.

So I wonder if the euphoria from Twitter will wear off or am I a tweet away from rehab? I don’t know the future God has in store for me, but from now I will borrow a line from Philippians 1:3 to share with my fellow tweeters, I thank my God every time I remember you.”
