God Connections

             “We are in a season of connections,” the founder of Christ Healing Center, Jack Sheffield said.  Over the few weeks I have determined he was prophetic when he uttered those words.

            I am watching God connect his people in miraculous ways to accomplish his purpose.  In our ministry’s case, we were asked to put on a women’s conference at Christ Healing Center in San Antonio on September 7th. While we had a core group of speakers, we needed to bring in a couple of other women to speak as well.  We asked the first speaker without praying first.  I confess that I used my mind rather than my heart to choose her.  She had a great story that fit in with our theme.  Of course, she was unable to participate.

            After that we all prayed for the Lord to show us who to ask.  He began to reveal to us who those women were, people he had connected us with over the past couple of months.  When we shared about the conference with one of the women at breakfast, she said, “I received a call from someone at the Healing Center two days ago.  They heard about my ministry and they want to meet with me.”  We realized this was more than coincidence and asked her to be a speaker.  She knew immediately that she was called to do it!

            The second woman was another person who we had already been told that we would work with at some point.  She came to all of our minds.  After we asked her, she told us another story that cemented the plan to have her speak.  Someone employed at Christ Healing Center had applied for a job with her marketing company a while back.  Just this week, she checked in with the woman to see how she was doing.  The Healing Center employee told her that she thought they’d be working together in the future but not in business.  Little did she know they will be sitting together in a meeting in the next couple of weeks to plan a conference.

            There are other amazing stories of connections in relation to Christ Healing Center.  A friend of mine connected his friend from the Houston area to me.  She is already serving in a healing ministry in that area so now I have connected her with the Healing Center in San Antonio because they are in the process of putting a similar ministry in Houston.  Now they have a meeting set up to work together.

            Christ Healing Center also wants to plant a location in India.  I happen to know someone who is an evangelist in India and who has already built a church there and have connected the Healing Center to him. I will not be surprised if they help each other.

            It is all mind boggling how God is facilitating his plan for this world by connecting people!  We can also look at it this way:  God is connecting the body of Christ together. Paul says in Romans 12:4-5, Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.  If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; If it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

            As I look at the slate of speakers that God has brought together, I see prophets, teachers, encouragers, servants and leaders. He has connected the body!

            It’s exciting to watch God work like this and to be a part of his plan to reach the nations.  I wonder who he will connect us with next?
