God Gently Leads by Lane Jordan Burday
He tends his flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to His heart, He gently leads those that have young (Isaiah 40:11).

Every August, my family has a beach vacation in Florida. My husband and I, two daughters, two sons-in-law, and two grandchildren! We rent the condo, and then everyone gets here when they can, hopefully some overlapping, so I have the whole family at one time, and we can get a family photo.
As you can imagine, the traditions that are built year after year are very special. We visit the lighthouse and get ice cream afterwards. We also enjoy lots of sandcastles and walking along the ocean, playing games that we only play here at the beach, and sharing special movies or books.

I always cover the month with prayer for safe travels, good health, and sweet spirits for all. This year, all has been perfect except our newest grandson got sick on his 3rd day here with a bad virus, Hand-Foot-and-Mouth disease. He had been crying constantly for three days to the point where we had to take him to urgent care to see if maybe he also had an ear infection or throat. Nothing but the virus, which we are very grateful for.
But as my husband and I helped our daughter take care of him, I prayed to the Lord for his pain to go away and for us to have the energy to take care of him and to know what to do. That’s when the verse above came to me.

God cares so much for His children! He gently takes care of the young ones, keeps them close to His heart, and then leads the mothers. What a great promise!
He has also given all of us another promise: “All your children will be taught by the LORD, and great will be their peace” (Isaiah 54:13).
When we surrender to the Lord, He will not let His children be forsaken but will find ways to teach us and guide us along life’s path. And the best gift of all? His perfect peace.
I pray you will keep His peace deep in your spirit and have His joy.
