God is Our Focal Point by Lane Jordan Burday
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

I love to watch ballet performances, especially the Nutcracker, during the Christmas holiday. The professional dancers seem to dance like magic, especially when they make spin after spin after spin on their tiny point ballet shoes.
A spinning ballerina can spin without losing her balance or place on the stage because she keeps her eyes fixed on a given point. She can spin without fault as long as she keeps her focus on that one point.

As followers of Christ, we need to make Him our daily focal point. Our world is spinning faster and faster with more problems than we can comprehend. The only way we can keep ourselves balanced is to fix our eyes on Jesus. He is the one who never changes and will keep our steps steady and sure. We can get disoriented and lost if we gaze too long at our circumstances and the world’s problems.
Remember, Jesus “who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2). Jesus endured the cross so that He could be our focal point! He is truly our life and our light in this dark world.

I pray you have Jesus as your focal point in your life daily. He promises never to leave us or forsake us—ever! (Romans 8:38).
