Truth Next Exit

Today, I hold before you truth that will hold you up when all other props are gone. No matter what’s going on in your life right now – stress, health problems, finances, desperately wishing you had never married, desperately wanting to get married, children who have set an ache in your soul, the death of someone you love – whatever pain you are in, God’s steadfast love for you will never, ever end. Every day, He has brand new supplies of mercy. There is a dawn that is coming after the night. And it is all captured in the sentence, “God is faithful.”

Because He is faithful we can depend on Him, count on Him, and look for Him to come through for us in every circumstance. Sometimes, truths of the heart like this one are best captured in song.  “Great is thy faithfulness! There is no shadow of changing with thee.”

Because He is faithful, He keeps up His side of the relationship even when I don’t.  2Timothy. 2:13: “If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.”

If we are faithless, He remains faithful – for He cannot deny Himself.

1 Cor. 10:13: “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

I could go on mentioning the rich benefits that flow from being related to God. Because He is faithful you can conquer every temptation.

What does it mean to be faithful?  Can you think of someone IN YOUR LIFE who is faithful?

Someone you could always depend on. If you were in a crisis, if you needed something, you could pick up the phone and know that if there was a way, that someone would find it. Sometimes you would voice a concern that maybe that someone was too pressed for time to handle a task for you. But would answer back and with some force, “Hey, this is me you’re talking too. Have I ever let you down?” And to this day the answer is NO. That someone is a faithful one.

It strikes me that everybody needs somebody like that in their lives – someone who will support you, come through for you, and stand his/her ground defending  you. Someone who is loyal and trustworthy, constant and reliable. That’s a tall order in our “trust no one,” “do whatever it takes to get ahead” self-seeking culture.

But hear me today: If you are a Christian, you are adopted by a Father who will never ever change. His mind is in regard to you, he never writes you off, never leaves you or forsakes you. If you are a part of God’s family, by faith alone, in Christ alone, then you have a Friend who sticks closer than a brother. You cannot talk about the one true God without coming to this truth: How great is the faithfulness of our God!

(Isaiah 55:10-11) “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

In other words, whatever God speaks, happens. Because He is the never-changing God, what He says goes. Jesus Himself put it straight:

He said: (Matt. 24:35) “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.”

Numbers 23:19:  “God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

That means the Word of God is His bond. It means He will keep all His promises. It means that God will fulfill every prophecy He has made. He never forgets, never fails, new slumbers nor sleep, never falters, and never forfeits His word. To every declaration of promise or prophecy the Lord has exactly adhered, every engagement of covenant or threatening, He will make good.

Let me leave you with this:

God is faithful.

He cannot and will not fail you.

He said do not be afraid. I go before you always. Follow Him and allow HIM to be in control of their lives. He knows what is best for you. I am encouraging you to refuse to worry.

gift

You see, I gave myself a gift, placed it in a pretty box with a pretty bow.  signed to Rosemary from Rosemary.  I open the box; inside was a piece of paper on that paper were the words: “Rosemary, refuse to worry.”

I do not have a pretty box with a pretty bow to give to you, because the box and the bow are insignificant.  But I will give you the gift inside the box.  “REFUSE TO WORRY” I made that decision, because I have been taught to trust Him. That does not mean that I do not have challenges, but that is my choice, and it works for me.  Make Him real and allow Him to do the work He predestined for you. Then, listen to His voice daily and get directions from Him. He is a responding God; He Loves You.

BECAUSE HE IS FAITHFUL!

May God richly bless you.

In His Service,

Rosemary Legrand
