How to Live “Happily Ever After” by Joy Reinagel
Today’s guest blogger is Joy Reinagel. Joy is a speaker and a former Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputy. She and Joe, the lead sportscaster at the CBS affiliate in San Antonio, Texas, speak about their redemption story as a couple to encourage other married couples to place Christ at the center of their lives.
Sometimes our lives become extremely busy as we wear the hats of wife, mother, professional, sister, daughter, you name it. Simply put we are WOMEN!
We have such amazing fairy tale dreams as little girls but no one really prepares us for the BIG TIME called “LIFE.” We are taught from an early age you grow up find Prince Charming, have the flowing white Cinderella princess gown with a fairytale wedding, children, a dog, house with a white picket fence and live happily ever after. Well, someone forgot to tell us weddings can be costly and as for Prince Charming, the only perfect man to walk this earth is Jesus Christ. Jesus will always keep HIS promises. HE is faithful and is with you wherever you go.
Having children can create its challenges as well. We are not usually prepared for pregnancies with difficulties or unforeseen outcomes. We are absolutely not prepared for medical challenges. The one thing we can be absolutely sure of is Jesus is with us through it all, giving us strength, courage, and most of all love.
Living happily ever after can be realistic through the POWER of PRAYER. Simply ask Jesus Christ into your life!
When the storm tosses you in life from one side to the other you may feel so sea sick you fall to your knees. Some may cry out “Lord, enough! This is too much! Help me” Your tears may stream down your face and you’re hands may lift up to the Lord in desperation. HE knows your bills are past due, you have next to nothing to feed your family because all you have is $20 to your name, not to mention you need gas in your car.
Then all of a sudden, a peace comes over you.
You remember the Word says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, that transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and mind in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
And you realize it will be OK, because the true Prince Charming, the King of Kings, will hold your hand and provide what you need.
