I Got Chills by Mayada Naami

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

(Ephesians 6:12, NIV)

On Saturday morning, Lisa Burkhardt Worley’s documentary, “Terror in Toulouse: Has the Community Recovered?” won a fifth and sixth Film Festival Award for “Best Documentary” and “Most Educational Film,” at the Christian Online Film Festival. When Lisa received the news and shared it with her team, I got chills. The reason I got chills is because I knew this was birthed from a dream that she had last year about a terrorist attack that she knew nothing about. A terrorist attack in Toulouse, France against the Jewish community. The terrorist opened fire at a Jewish day school killing a Rabbi and three children. I decided to post a meme to the Pearls Girls group, so I googled “I got chills.”

When I did, the song from Elvis Presley, “I Got a Feeling in My body” popped up. I have never heard the song so I clicked on it and the first verse of the song was, “When Moses walked the children out of Egypt land He said now don’t you worry, we’re in the Lords’ hands, He’s going to walk beside us, the time is coming near.” I got chills!

“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

(Revelation 22:12-13, NIV)

I am in awe of God! I am in awe of how He used Moses, and how He uses us today to reveal His power and might. He conversed with Adam in the Garden of Eden. He spoke to Moses in a burning bush and He promised Abraham a son. Does He still speak to us today? Absolutely! He spoke to Lisa through a dream, and He spoke to me through a song. How does He speak to you? Are you listening to His small, still voice, or are you distracted by the noise around you? How much time are you spending in the presence of the Lord? He wants a relationship with you. He created you for this reason. When you spend time in His presence, you too will get chills.

“The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.”

(Psalms 65:8 , NIV)
