We challenged our Pearls of Promise blog readers to write a song of praise to God for the New Year and if they did we would share them on the Pearls of Promise website. Barbara Ferguson answered the challenge! Barbara is an author and poet and she shares two songs with us today.
LORD, IT’S YOU I ADORE
Teach me how to show it more.
All the time You’re everywhere,
You’re in control, and really care.
In presence of Your holiness,
I’m humbled by my sinfulness.
When I repent, You forgive.
Your Word guides me how to live.
Although You’re great and I am small,
That doesn’t bother You at all.
You pour out Your love on me.
Your grace allows me to be free.
My deep desire is honoring You
In everything I say and do.
YOU’RE AWESOME, FATHER
You’re Awesome, Father, I love You so much!
I always want to stay in touch.
I’ll spend time with You so I will know
The way You’ve planned for me to go.
My tendency is to run ahead,
Then a negative consequence I dread.
So first thing this morning I’ll read Your Word,
Meditate on what I’ve seen and heard.
Then walk close to You throughout the day,
Trusting You to lead the way.
