What is the Key to Freedom?

escapeWe had one hour to escape.

Our family was trapped in a fallout shelter and if we didn’t break all the codes, we’d run out of oxygen and die.

Sounds dramatic doesn’t it?

It was only a team-building game we played at an Escape Room, one of many franchises across the country.

There were lock combinations to figure out and Morse Codes to decipher but we were unable to complete the drill in time because we made one fatal mistake.

We didn’t thoroughly search for the hidden clues in the room.

The unseen.

If we had, we probably would have broken out in less than sixty minutes and found freedom!

thought-captive

How many times have you felt desperate and did not know the way out of a situation?

Did you wonder if there was some avenue of escape you missed?

Bible

God’s Word is one of the best code breakers in the world. When we’ve exhausted all of our human efforts, the Bible is a revealer of hidden things. According to Psalm 119:105, “The word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.”

If the Bible provides the keys to escape captivity, why don’t we open it more?

God’s Word reveals mysteries. “He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light” (Job 12:22)

directions

God’s Word provides direction. “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it” (Isaiah 3:21).

God’s Word gives insight. “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” Jeremiah 33:3.

God’s Word offers protection. “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him” Proverbs 30:5.

When we open the word of God, we receive a word from God.

And a means of escape from any stronghold we’re trapped in.

Don’t miss the holy clues. Open the best life-code cracker there is, the Bible.

Sometimes it’s the only way to freedom.
