Your Destiny Depends on This! By Lisa Burkhardt Worley
Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed (Proverbs 16:3, NLT).
“We have to pray!” I called an emergency Pearls of Promise team prayer meeting on the eve of our trip to the National Religious Broadcasters Convention. The LORD reminded me that we must have His covering on the week as we tape eight POP Talk shows, have numerous meetings, and meet new people.
In Deuteronomy 31:8 Moses said to the Israelites, “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” But I think we must ask God to go before us. I believe we need to place the schedule at His feet, and humbly ask for His favor. We do not want to make a move that is not of God. This is His convention. These are His people. We are just his vessels who He uses for His purposes.
This week I read a quote from Tony Robbins that was impactful, “It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” What urgent decisions do you have facing you right now? Have you gathered up a group of trusted friends to pray as you make these decisions?
Your destiny depends on it.
What I am seeing is a shift in our ministry. While we still have a heart to help the broken, God is leading us into more and more Jewish ministry. At NRB will be meeting with several people who represent Jewish outreaches. This is where doors have opened, and this may be a part of our ministry destiny. However, we desire to make the right decisions and advance prayer is critical.
Jesus did not make a move without asking His Father first. In John 5:19 Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing.” And each of us are called to be imitators of Jesus. We can trust that the Father guides His children just as He guided His Son, and he wants to shape our destinies if we will turn our destinies over to Him.
