Always and Forever

Most mornings God wakes me up with a worship song, but this week, he pulled a tune out of the archives. After dusting off the record it began to play. Always and forever, each moment with you…

Always and forever

The song was first released by the British-based group Heatwave in 1977 but later re-recorded by Luther Vandross.

I knew this was from God because it’s farfetched that a song from forty years ago would randomly play in my mind. However, why would my heavenly Father wake me out of slumber with a song from the disco era?

heart with cross

I think our Eternal Father occasionally reminds us he loves us always and forever.

God wants us to know we are not alone when we are going through difficult times.

And that nothing can separate us from his love.

I don’t know what’s going on in your world. Maybe you’ve recently experienced the death of a loved one.

Has illness taken you down?

Perhaps you are still trying to get over a dysfunctional childhood where your mother and father were absent. Psalm 27:10 promises, “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.”

everlasting love

God reaches out to everyone with everlasting love that lasts always and forever.

The Apostle Paul understood the eternal nature of God’s love. He said in Romans 8:38, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.”

But later in his letter to the Ephesians, he said it takes strength and power to understand the concept of a love that “surpasses knowledge.”

It’s easy for us to tell someone “God loves you” but it requires fortitude from above to really believe it in our hearts, especially during the tough times.

god-is-love

If you are in the thick of a struggle right now and are convinced God’s love has abandoned you, pray for the strength to believe your Abba Father loves you in the midst of your pain. Ask God to make you aware of his compassionate presence. Pray you will understand the heavenly love that infiltrates us

Always and forever.
