Be Strong and Very Courageous by Brenda Zurrita

Brenda
Brenda Zurita was born in 1979 in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico to José and Mildred Gutierrez. She moved to the United States of America in 1990, along with her two younger sisters, Jessica and Rebecca Gutierrez.  Brenda was part of a blended family composed of a total of six children including herself.
Due to the power of the Holy Ghost Brenda moved to California in 1990 along with her family after her sister of 8 years of age was miraculously healed from cancer. On a journey to find financial stability through a doctorate revalidation program the family moved from the west coast of America to the East Coast.  She considered Florida her home due to the fact that it was the one place that she lived in the longest, met her husband of 15 years, had her first two children and studied. In 2005 the Lord pressed upon her husband and her heart to move to Texas. Texas was a foreign land to them but there was one individual in Texas that Brenda had prayed for for many years and that was her sister from her father side of the family who did not know the Lord and today, due to Brenda’s obedience and Gods faithfulness, she and her whole family serve the Lord. Brenda moved with her husband and her two children to North Fort Worth Texas in 2005.  She and her family now reside in San Antonio.

Today she enjoys sharing the freedom and power of God along with her redemption story with anyone who He puts on her path.  She is also a mother of 4 children; Gabriel, Daniela, Leonardo and Isabella.  Her Husband and her lead and serve the business community through their Inbound Marketing Firm, e-webstrategy.  She enjoys watching movies, spending time with her family, traveling and singing.  Brenda’s heart is for those who belong to the body of Christ who are bound by circumstances and fear.  Setting the captives free and helping them find their identity in Christ is her top priority.  She truly enjoys one on one evangelism.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go”
(Joshua 1:9)
Karate
Do you remember the movie Karate Kid? How different would it have been if Daniel, picked on by bullies at his school, would’ve known that he was going to win and or be victorious at the end of his karate tournament with his biggest competitor/enemy?  He would have probably fought with that much more confidence during all four rounds.
Our lives are the same way. Sometimes when we are downtrodden, persecuted, or a victim, we feel defeated, and we are not sure we can go the distance. Instead, we should have an assurance that at the end we are the victors, because the battle has already been fought and won.

We need to be strong.
We need to be courageous.
cross divides
If you questioned whether or not you should stand and continue standing while in the middle of the rigorous fight, consider this: through his blood shed on the cross, Jesus Christ has overcome on your behalf. He has cast your enemy, the devil down. Revelation 12:10-11 says, “For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
The victory is already yours.
Be strong.
Be courageous.

Next time you consider what to do, stand knowing that you are the winner no matter what it looks or looked like in the last rounds.
In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome this world (John 16:33).

Discussion points:
1.  Who do we go to when war is waged against us?
2.  What should we believe when war is waged against us?
3.  Discuss the steps that ensure our victory.
4.  What does Success looks like in the battle field?
