Decision by Rosemary Legrand

Have you ever had to make a decision that you knew was the right thing to do even though it wasn’t easy?

I am one of the co-hosts on the Pearls of Promise television show called “POP Talk.” Recently, we were making plans to interview two special people that are making a huge contribution globally. I was very  excited about the show. I had my questions memorized and was ready to go. But on the way to the studio, I had a call from my spiritual daughter. She said, “Mum, I am so sorry to bother you but can you please come and take me to the doctor? I am having an allergic reaction to some prescribed medication and my whole body is swollen and my face is distorted.”

WOW! My heart sank. Who wants their loved one to be in pain? But I was on the way to the studio and I gently said, “I am so sorry but I have a show today.” She politely said, “That’s okay. I will drive myself.”

When I hung up, I immediately had a “What would Jesus do” moment and I knew there and then that I had to cancel my studio appointment and take my daughter to the doctor. What a blessing it was to be obedient to God. I knew I had made the right decision.

I was reminded of the scripture in Matthew 25: 35-40-: “For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?  Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?   When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’”

We are the hands and feet of Jesus. Sometimes we have to forget about our own agenda and do what we need to do to be a blessing to someone else. I am happy to say my daughter is doing much better.  To God be the glory!

Be a blessing to someone today.  Your heavenly Father will crown your efforts with success.

May God richly bless you!
