Finding God’s Comfort by Rosemary Legrand

Are you afraid and need to be comforted?

The Lord promises in Isaiah 41:13: I am the Lord your God, I am holding your right hand, and I say to you. Do not fear, for I will HELP you.

At some point we all want or even need to hear these words. They speak directly to some of our greatest fears and challenges, as well as isolation, loneliness, vulnerability. They remind us that we are not destined to walk this earth without direction or help.

We do not stand alone. God is always with us. God promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He cannot and will not fail us. He will give us peace in the midst of this storm. Wow! What promises. Specific promises from the LORD to you. Trust Him as you go through this journey. He is holding your hand, believe in him and RECEIVE whatever you are believing God for.

Another Word from God: I will not Leave You Comfortless (John 14:18).

I am reminded of the time I was in London; I was there because my son was diagnosed with bladder cancer and kidney failure and was scheduled for surgery. Before I left for London, the Holy Spirit ministered to my heart and said this sickness is not unto death (John 11:4). Every Sunday while in London I would attend church with my daughter-in-law’s mother. On a particular Sunday, I was getting ready to go to church with her. I heard drums in the distance and then worship songs. I was curious and asked my daughter-in-law where the singing was coming from. She informed me that at the school next to us, a church meets there every Sunday. Enquiring minds wanted to know, so, I walked outside, went to the gate and spoke with the man at the gate who informed me that indeed it was a church called “Royal House Chapel: East London Missions.” I was excited and promised that I would visit the following Sunday.

When I walked into the Church as a visitor for the first time, the song that was being sung was “I am the God that healeth thee, I  am the Lord, your Healer, I sent My word and healed your disease I am the Lord, your Healer (Exodus 15:26).

I believe that was a comforting word for me because my son was scheduled for  surgery on the Tuesday following my visit to the church that Sunday. I Praise God the surgery was successful. I attended that church every Sunday while I was in London and it became my home church whenever I am In London because I believe the Lord used the drums to lead me to this church.

God is real. You are not alone. Regardless of what is happening in your life, The Great Physician is always by your side.  His redemptive name is Jehovah Rapha, “the God who HEALS! God is always speaking, take time to listen to his still small voice.

Whatever you are going through, remember Isaiah 41:13. It is a message of comfort and reassurance reminding us that God is with us and will help us.
