God’s Customer Service Desk

I asked God to provide a word to open up the Rejuvenate U Conference yesterday and he took me to a familiar passage in Isaiah 40:

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah40

I thought, That is a great verse for a conference about rejuvenating. Thank you Lord! But as I studied the passage further, I discovered a hidden gem in its words. The Hebrew translation for “renew” also means “to exchange.” This reminded me of the service desk at department stores but instead of exchanging a blouse or a household item, we can exchange our weakness for God’s strength.

When we don’t know what to say, we can exchange our words for his words.

Our tiredness for his energy.

Our impatience for his patience.

Our inability for his ability.

What a fabulous exchange!

But there is only one customer service desk we can go to for this exchange and it’s heavenly.

When we hope in the Lord, not only will he renew our strength, but he promises we will soar on wings like eagles. The Hebrew word for soar also means “to go up, ascend, rise”

Are you weary today?

What weakness is preventing you from rising up?

What do you need to exchange at the Mount Zion Service Desk?

Today as I recover from an extremely busy conference preparation, I too am standing in line for an exchange. I have laid my exhaustion on the counter and I am ready to receive a package of rejuvenation from God. I know he will provide it because his Word says he will. I cannot soar on my empty tank. I have to fill up with God’s fuel.

Are you ready for an exchange? God is waiting for you at his counter. He has what you need.
