Are You Entering a New Season?

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven…” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

Are the winds of change blowing in your life?

I have found when God moves us, he prepares us beforehand.

We often think the thoughts circulating in our head are ours but it’s often the Holy Spirit giving us a nudge in another direction.

Maybe the job isn’t as fulfilling as it once was.

Perhaps there’s a tug to move somewhere else.

It could be your philosophy no longer matches up with the place you’ve been connected to for a decade.

Is there a relationship you need to walk away from?

change

Change is difficult.

But sometimes seasons end.

I have found that God doesn’t slam a door shut in my life. In his loving way, he slowly closes it until I can know longer see what was behind me. Sometimes he begins the process a year or two before. Although I sense a change is coming, I often resist because I am a creature of habit. However, the gentle push eventually becomes a holy shove.

Can you relate?

But the great news is wherever God leads us, he will be waiting to guide us through the new season of our life.

israelites

When the Israelites finally entered the Promised Land after forty years of wandering in the wilderness, it was a new season. New seasons are scary but God gave his people a promise before they crossed the border, still true today: “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Do you sense a season of your life is coming to a close?

Do not be afraid.

Do not be discouraged.

The Lord will not abandon you and will travel there with you.

God sees what’s ahead. It may be uncharted territory for us but it’s not for him. And he will not lead us to a new place in life unless there is a good reason for it.

So if the Holy Push has turned into a shove in your life, take the first step. Then another and another. Be brave and excited about what’s on the other side of the door because God loves you and desires to give you his best in your new season.
