Perfect Peace by Lisa Burkhardt Worley
We are two weeks out from our annual Level-Up Women’s Conference and worries are trying to overwhelm me. Worries about the preps. Worries about the messages. Worries about the count. Worries about everything else I have to do. It is around this time every year that I announce to my husband: “I don’t think I am going to do this again!” He laughs and says, “We’ll see.”
Do you let worries wear you down? That is when it’s time to surrender to God whatever is weighing on you and pray for His perfect peace. Isaiah 26:3 says, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. The Hebrew word for trust here means steadfast and non-wavering—a fixed trust. It does not mean trusting sometimes and not others.
Today, I am preaching to myself. As we round the final bend to another Level-Up Conference, my trust has not been fixed. Instead of trusting that God has this conference in His hands (it is prayed over), I wonder what else I can do to draw people to the event. I believe it has the potential to be our best yet, yet I cannot force people to sign up. It’s God’s job to draw and convict. To have His perfect peace, I need to have a steadfast trust that He will act in miraculous ways over the next couple of weeks. I may just need to get out of His way.

Father, we are tired of worrying! Thank you that your perfect peace is available to all of us if we ask. Help us to maintain an unwavering trust in You and Your plan, because we know that you love us and work all things together for good in our lives. Amen
